How do I find things on the Internet?[ FAQ ] | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
OVERVIEW | Internet Directories | Search Engines One way you can find a Web site is by looking in Internet directories. These are like tables of contents in books, except that they include descriptions of selected Web sites and newsgroups, as well as links to them. If you are looking for something specific, you can use one of the many Internet search engines. These work like indexes in books, since they allow you to look for Web sites and newsgroups containing specific words. Finding text on a Web pageOnce you've found the Web page you want, you can use Netscape's Find feature to find specific words on it. To use this, click the Edit menu, then click Find in Page....This is handy if you've found a very long document that you don't want to read all the way through. Related Questions: |
